[→ netCDF Reader—learn how to read netCDF files in Observable](https://observablehq.com/@earthscope/emc-netcdf-reader) #### Overview The Repository Explorer enables users to interactively search for models in the [EMC repository](http://ds.iris.edu/ds/products/emc-earthmodels/) based on the model’s geographic coverage, parameters, or keywords. This notebook provides access to the model’s coverage area, summary description, variables list, link to the corresponding reference article, and link to the EMC’s detail page. To use this notebook: * *Select the region of interest by using the ${drawIcon} ${deleteIcon} buttons to **Draw** on the map and create, edit, and delete a polygon. Complete the polygon with a **double click** on the last vertex you want to add. Click on an existing polygon to edit its vertices or delete it.* **OR** * *Use the **Search models** box to search for the models in the repository.* * *The model list will be filtered to include only those bounding boxes that contain all of the areas you have drawn or models which contain the selected words.* * *The initial polygon includes US models by default and the **global** models are excluded. Check the **Include Global Models** box to include the global models in your selection.* * *Click on any **linked model name** to go to EMC's detail page for that model.* * *Click on any **thumbnail** to view the model in EMC's Depth Slicer notebook (opens a new tab).* * *Select a **row** to view more metadata about a particular model.* * *Click a column header to sort by that attribute.* ***Note***: This notebook includes 2D and 3D models under the netCDF 3 format.
