Its author, Wimer Hazenberg aka Monokai, wrote an algorithm that generates animated pieces. They published it on a generative art platform called fx(hash) and opened the possibility for people to fix certain iterations.* In their “Monokai’s drifters” notebook, Observable user Anaglyphic uses Plot to try and make sense of the features in the algorithm (such as underwater scene, corals, visitors, choreography, patterns, etc.), and see why it resonates so deeply with them.
